John Markson, the founder and President of MarksonHRC, has over 25 years of experience in consulting on a wide spectrum of compensation and benefit issues for companies of all sizes in diverse industries.  A former Managing Principal at the global management consulting firm of Towers Perrin, John earlier in his career held several executive human-resource positions at Mobil Oil.

John keeps his technical and strategic advice firmly grounded in the context of improving business results. Because he believes the most sophisticated compensation designs lose much of their value if they cannot be readily communicated and administered, John takes a practical approach to applying his technical and strategic expertise to meet clients’ needs. This approach is manifest in his consulting style, which is clear and straightforward.

A credentialed actuary and frequent speaker on pay, human resource and risk-management topics, John graduated from the University of Chicago with a degree in economics and holds an MBA in finance from George Washington University.

John is also the co-founder and Board Chair of the non-profit Orion School.  Located in Atlanta, The Orion School is the premiere school in the Southeast for educating children with severe AD/HD and associated learning and behavioral disabilities.
